A group of cake lovers descended upon the tearoom at the Himalayan Gardens Riverhill just south of Sevenoaks. I say "descended" as this sums up the hilly nature of this unusual garden, perched halfway up the hill and overlooking fantastic views of the Weald. After tea, cakes and gossip, several of us dug out our grappling hooks and oxygen ready to roam around the gardens, due to be shut at the end of the month. We enjoyed some autumn colours, pumpkins and squashes of every shape and size, extraordinary fungi, a deep delve into the Edwardian rockery garden and a last sniff at the fading roses. See piccies.
