In our September meeting we looked at the guidelines for the best composition of an image watching a YouTube video presented by a professional photographer. We learnt about natural framing, checking the horizon is straight, avoiding distracting elements in an image, and how leading lines such as paths or fences help lead the viewer in and through the image, ensuring the main focal point of the image is clear.
Having learnt the theory, our members were able to put this into practice with the topic of trees. Knowing the theory encouraged us all to think more before we take a photo and the results were some great photos of trees from different perspectives.
