The move to London

Four of us enjoyed November's meeting learning about the movement of people to London with its smells, bustle and noise. We found out about: why so many canals were built and what they were used for; how a declining fishing village became a bustling seaside town; the systems of law and order, and punishments that prevailed and developed through the century. This meeting took 2 hours as we each had plenty to say but there is still room for more members.
